Eazytint Polyester Tinting System

In order to continue to maintain a leading position in the Australian Polyester market, CDC's top priorities are in research and development and technical assistance carried out by a highly qualified technical team.
A need was identified by CDC' for the Polyester Market to have available a range of highly concentrated pigment dispersions which could be dispensed through both manual and automatic dispensing systems. The surface coating industry has been using a similar system for many years.

After many months of intensive research CDC's Research and Development Team have been able to produce a technically refined Tinting System, which is compatible with most polyester gelcoat formulations currently available in Australia. Because one of the main advantages with this system is ease of use, the system has been called "EAZYTINT".

When coupled with a computerised colour matching system such as the USA based "X-Rite" system, it enables accurate custom colour matches to be predicted from almost any sample. These predictions can be dispensed through a measurement system available through such companies as Fluid Management Pty. Ltd.
The Eazytint System enables you to match computers colours with sophisticated tinting dispersions containing high pigment loadings without significantly increasing your
inventory.

The "EAZYTINT" pigment dispersions for Polyester use essentially consist of both organic and inorganic pigments with pigment loadings as high as 60% by mass. The pigments are finely dispersed into an unsaturated polyester resin, which has been chemically manipulated to provide a viscosity easily dispersed through Paint Tinting Equipment.
The pigments used in the Eazytint System have been selected to provide maximum advantage in opacity, weathering, stability and cost. They contain no heavy metals but if required, heavy metal formulations can be supplied to use in the 'EAZYTINT" System.

Eazytint pigment dispersions have been tested and approved for use in "Matchrite" and "Paintmaster" colour matching equipment as well as dispensing equipment both automatic semi-automatic and manual supplied by Fluid Management and Polar Instruments. Full presentations are available from these equipment suppliers for use with the Eazytint Tinting System. CDC feels the release of the Eazytint Tinting System to the polyester industry has a number of significant advantages to potential users.

ADVANTAGES OF THE EAZYTINT SYSTEM

Enables the production of coloured gelcoats to be accurate, faster, cleaner

easier with no downgrading of properties such as cure time or opacity.

Allows meter dispensing of tinters by mass or volume.

Tinters dispense easily through metering equipment. Minimum training of
    operators is usually necessary.

Eazytint has a wide temperature tolerance, which enable easy dispensing
in a wide range of climates.

Significantly reduces the quantity of inventory needed to be held.

Accurate control of tinter properties with ease of dispensing
enables the user to tint from 1 Kg to 1,000 Kgs.

Colour matches and supply of gelcoat may be done extremely
quickly - even while the customer waits, is possible.

Eazytint dispersions contain no volatile components only requiring
regular agitation to maintain homogeneous properties.

High pigment loadings allow small dispensing amounts thus reducing
    metering wastage.

Low dispensing viscosity of Eazytint usually allows tinted gelcoats to be
    mixed  with tumble mixing equipment.

We at CDC feel the list of further advantages can probably be magnified many times more by our customers.
We have tried very hard to list any disadvantages - the only one we can identify affects CDC and not the Eazytint user. CDC will reduce the amount of dispersion pastes we colour match for the polyester industry.
